Cross and Convert
Dribble at speed down the wing and whip an early cross into a target at the back post.
Markers mark the wing; sprint down the line and whip an early cross into the back-post target, then try the other wing.
Set up
- Lay 4 or 5 markers in a line as your wing, and set a small net or two markers as a target at the back post.
Garden, park.
How to play
- Dribble at speed down the line, like you're racing a full-back.
- Whip an early cross into the target. Don't slow down before you strike it.
- Then switch and try it down the other wing.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Count your best run of crosses on target in a row, on each wing.
Three things to say
- Plant foot pointing at the target.
- A clean, early delivery.
Colts habit
Work hard: little and often beats one long go.
Both feet
Do a round with the practice foot only.
Heads up
Look up between touches.
Safety: Pick a clear, flat space, look out for traffic and hazards, and stop if anything hurts. Soft ball indoors.
My best
Best run of crosses on target in a row, each wing. Last time and this time. Only ever compared with your own earlier go, never with anyone else. Saved on this device only.
