Passing Games at the Wall
Also called Football Bowling
In a game you pass and receive, so practise them joined together.
Set up
- Warm up for 3 minutes: easy wall passes with both feet.
- Line up a few markers as bowling pins.
Wall.
How to play
- Football bowling: line up the pins and knock them over with passes, both feet.
- One-touch rally: count how many one-touch passes you can do before losing control. 3 goes.
- Pass and turn: pass to the wall, control the rebound and turn away as if a defender is behind you. 2 minutes.
- Moving target: pass to a grown-up who shuffles a little each time. 2 minutes.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Re-rack race: how fast can you knock all the bowling pins down? Beat your own time.
- Practice-foot bowling: knock them down with your practice foot only.
- Pass on the move: jog past the wall and pass-and-collect as you go.
Three things to say
- Cushion the ball as it comes back: soft foot, then pass again.
Colts habit
Work hard: little and often beats one long go.
Both feet
Do a round with the practice foot only.
Heads up
Look up between touches.
For your birth year
Pick a birth year to show the tweak for that group.
- 2016 to 2017
- Bowling with both feet, stepping back each round.
- 2018 to 2019
- Bowling with both feet.
Safety: Pick a clear, flat space, look out for traffic and hazards, and stop if anything hurts. Soft ball indoors.
My best
One-touch rally count. Last time and this time. Only ever compared with your own earlier go, never with anyone else. Saved on this device only.
