1v1 Scoring Grid
1v1 to the corners: the far corner is worth most, and the defender can counter through the poles.

Set up
- Mark a 20 by 20 grid with a red far corner, two yellow corners and poles for the defender's counter.
- Several grids so pairs play at once.
Balls, bibs and cones. 20 by 20 grid. Two teams.
How to play
- The attacker tries to dribble into a corner of the grid with the ball under control.
- Past the defender and into the red corner: three points. Into a yellow corner under control: one point. If the defender wins the ball they counter through the poles for five points.
- Rotate roles after each go, or have a set number of attacks each (5 or 10) and keep your own count.
Keeping everyone moving
The booklet's team with the most points wins and fastest team wins progressions are dropped. Each child keeps their own count.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Change to a 2v1 game.
- Set a 2 to 3 minute time limit and try to score in every zone.
Three things to say
- Keep the ball under control, attack at speed.
- Feints, turns and unbalancing the defender.
- Defending: body shape, close down, slow down.
Colts habit
Be brave: go for the red corner.
Both feet
Enter a corner with the practice foot for a bonus.
Heads up
Look at the corners before you go.
The Colts change: The booklet's team with the most points wins and fastest team wins progressions are dropped. Each child keeps their own count.
Safety: Keep the area clear of bags and bottles. Stay on your feet, no slide tackles. No heading.
Keeping score: Each child keeps their own count and tries to beat it next time. Nothing is compared between children.
