3v1 Passers
Two teams keep the ball at each end while one defender at a time comes in from the middle.

Set up
- Mark a 20 by 45 grid divided into 2 halves with a 5-yard central zone.
- One team defends from the middle zone. The other two teams stand at either end.
Balls, bibs and cones. 20 by 45 grid divided into 2 halves with a 5-yard central zone. Three teams.
How to play
- The possession team tries to make 5 passes with one defender entering to win the ball.
- After 5 passes they can transfer the ball to the other team, who repeat the process with a new defender.
- Rotate the defending team every 2 to 3 minutes.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- If the defenders win the ball they replace the team that gave it away.
- Limit or increase the number of touches.
- Add wide supporting players or more defenders depending on how the group is finding it.
- Remove the need for 5 passes before transferring.
Three things to say
- First touch and control.
- Passing, receiving and movement to support.
- Weight, angle, accuracy and timing of the pass.
Colts habit
Lift each other: move to give the passer an option.
Both feet
One pass in every five with the practice foot.
Heads up
Look for the far team before the fifth pass.
Safety: Keep the area clear of bags and bottles. Stay on your feet, no slide tackles. No heading.
Keeping score: Each child keeps their own count and tries to beat it next time. Nothing is compared between children.
