ABC Shooting
Three shooting angles, three types of shot, and a first-time finish from a set.
Set up
- Set out three starting points (A, B, C) 15 to 25 yards from the goal, with a ball each.
- Use two or three goals side by side so groups stay at 2 or 3 players.
Net, balls, bibs and cones. Players in 3 groups (A, B, C) starting 15 to 25 yards from the goal.
How to play
- Players shoot from their point and collect their ball.
- Move to the next point after every shot, so everyone shoots from A, B and C.
- Players can shoot any way they want from any group.
Keeping everyone moving
Use several goals and a ball each so groups are 2 or 3 and nobody waits in a line. For the youngest, use the Shooting Gallery instead: ball each, four goals, no lines.

- A: inside right foot shot. B: laces shot. C: inside left foot shot.
- A: any shot. B passes to A, A sets B and B shoots first time. C passes to B, B sets C and C shoots first time.
- A: any shot. B passes to A, A sets B and B shoots first time. C and A play a 2v1 against B.
Three things to say
- Laces or side foot, head over the ball.
- Standing foot at the side of the ball.
- Strike through the ball, hit the target.

Be brave: strike it, then fetch it, then go again.

Point C is the practice foot.

Look at the goal before the set.

Safety: Nobody stands behind the goal. If a keeper is used, follow the academy keeper safety rules for the age group.
Keeping score: Each child keeps their own count and tries to beat it next time. Nothing is compared between children.
