Attacking Zones
Central players combine with wide players and end players to break into the end zone.

Set up
- Mark a pitch with a central area, two wide areas and end zones with small goals.
- 4v4 with 2v2 in the middle and 1v1 in each wide area. End players in yellow.
Balls, bibs, cones and nets. 4v4 with 2v2 in the middle and 1v1 in the wide areas, plus end players.
How to play
- Play directionally, scoring in the small nets, using the end players to create an overload.
- Wide players stay in the wide area. Central players combine to enter the end zone and score. Goals can only be scored from the end zones.
- Change central, target and wide players every 5 minutes. Play restarts from the end-zone players.
Keeping everyone moving
Rotate roles every 3 minutes so nobody is stuck wide or at the end.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Must play to the central support player to score.
- Must play off both wide players before you can score.
- Can score in any goal.
- Must play off a wide and a target player before you can score.
- If you pass wide, that player can rotate with the wide player coming inside.
Three things to say
- Timing and weight of passes, first touch.
- Receive with an open body, in space and at good angles.
- 1v1 dribbling to go past a defender.
Colts habit
Lift each other: the end player's goal belongs to the whole move.
Both feet
Wide players cross with the practice foot.
Heads up
Look wide before you receive.
The Colts change: Rotate roles every 3 minutes so nobody is stuck wide or at the end.
Safety: Keep the area clear of bags and bottles. Stay on your feet, no slide tackles. No heading.
Keeping score: Each child keeps their own count and tries to beat it next time. Nothing is compared between children.
