Dribbling Grid
Also called Dribbling Grid (arrival version)
Everyone dribbles in the grid using both feet and every part of the foot, with challenges from the coach.

Set up
- Mark a 20 by 20 grid. Every player has a ball.
20 by 20 grid (depending on numbers). All players with a ball each.
How to play
- Players all have a ball each and dribble around the grid.
- The coach gets players to dribble using both feet and different parts of their foot, for example outside, inside, sole, and gives challenges of how to dribble: outside-inside, or touch the ball with a different part of the foot every time you touch it.
Keeping everyone moving
The booklet's who can get to 50 touches quickest becomes a group challenge where every child counts their own touches. Nobody is compared.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Different challenges: change direction, 1v1 skills, toe taps, Brazilian toe taps, side to sides, combine multiple skills.
- Skills in pairs: sole rolls, 2 to 3 touch keep-ups.
- A group challenge: can everyone reach 50 or 100 touches, counting their own?
Three things to say
- Keep the ball under control with soft touches.
- Know what part of the foot to dribble with.
- Comfortable dribbling with both feet.
Colts habit
Work hard: keep the ball moving the whole time.
Both feet
One minute with the practice foot only.
Heads up
Look up for the coach's next challenge.
A young leader can run this one, with an adult coach beside them.
Safety: Keep the area clear of bags and bottles. Stay on your feet, no slide tackles. No heading.
Keeping score: Each child keeps their own count and tries to beat it next time. Nothing is compared between children.
