Pass and Finish
A passing sequence that ends with a shot, with each player following their pass.

Set up
- Set out the cones for the passing sequence with a small goal at the end.
- Groups of 5 or 6, a ball each, so the sequence keeps flowing.
Cones, balls, samba nets. Players in groups of 5 or 6.
How to play
- Players complete a passing sequence and finish with a shot on goal.
- Players pass diagonally, following their pass, with the last person having a shot.
- Players drop off and receive on their back foot.
Keeping everyone moving
Run two sequences at once with a ball each so nobody waits, and drop the first team to 10 target. Count the group's own finishes.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Follow a longer sequence: the receiver goes long to come short, with a mixture of short and long passing.
- A player stands behind the net and the net is turned round. The ball is passed over the net and the player must finish first time.
Three things to say
- Movement to receive the ball.
- Quality and technique of the pass.
- Quality and technique of the finishing.
Colts habit
Work hard: follow every pass.
Both feet
Finish with the practice foot once every round.
Heads up
Look at the goal before the last pass arrives.
The Colts change: Run two sequences at once with a ball each so nobody waits, and drop the first team to 10 target. Count the group's own finishes.
Safety: Keep the pass over the net below head height. No heading.
Keeping score: Each child keeps their own count and tries to beat it next time. Nothing is compared between children.
