Passing Lines
Middle players dribble to an end player, pass, get it back, and dribble to the other end.

Set up
- Set out three lines of cones: top, middle and bottom.
- Middle players have a ball each and face the top or bottom line.
Balls, bibs and cones. Players divided into 3 even groups. Players on the middle line have a ball each.
How to play
- The middle players dribble to the top or bottom line, pass to a player, get the ball back, dribble to the opposite line and repeat. Play for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Players cannot move in straight lines and should give a realistic angle so they can receive on the back foot and play forward.
- Rotate the roles of each group.
Keeping everyone moving
Keep the end lines short (three players at most) and swap roles every minute so nobody stands for long.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Increase or reduce the distance of the pass.
- The central player plays a 1-2 with the end players and changes positions with them.
Three things to say
- Passing and receiving technique.
- Communication, head up and observation.
- Movement and angles to receive the ball.
Colts habit
Work hard: angles, not straight lines.
Both feet
Receive on the back foot, whichever foot that is.
Heads up
Look up before the return pass.
The Colts change: Keep the end lines short (three players at most) and swap roles every minute so nobody stands for long.
Safety: Keep the area clear of bags and bottles. Stay on your feet, no slide tackles. No heading.
Keeping score: Each child keeps their own count and tries to beat it next time. Nothing is compared between children.
