Here! There! Nowhere!
Hallway or living room listening game for stopping, turning and changing direction on a call.
A cleared hallway: the caller at one end and your child in the middle with the ball. Here! is small touches towards the caller, There! is turn and dribble away.
Set up
- Move anything breakable.
- The caller stands at one end of the hallway.
- The child starts in the middle with the ball at their feet, facing the caller.
A hallway at least 4 m long by 1 m wide, or 4 m of clear living room floor (about 5 giant steps).
How to play
- Here! means small touches towards the caller.
- There! means turn and dribble away to the far end.
- Nowhere! means toe taps on the spot until the next call.
- Swap caller after 1 minute.
Make it easier
- Slower calls with a pause between each.
Make it harder
- Add Switch! for practice foot only.
- The caller points instead of speaking so the child has to look up.
Three things to say
- Listen and react quickly.
- Small touches so the ball stays in the hallway.
- Be a kind caller when it is your turn.
Colts habit
Work hard: toe taps never stop on Nowhere!
Both feet
Switch! means practice foot only.
Heads up
The caller points instead of speaking.

My best
Calls answered without a heavy touch in one minute. Last time and this time. Only ever compared with your own earlier go, never with anyone else. Saved on this device only.
