Island Hopping
Score by passing to a teammate who receives with one foot in a hoop, and the islands move.
Six hoop islands scattered about; score by passing to a teammate who receives with one foot in a hoop, who then passes on.
Set up
- Mark a 25 m by 30 m area.
- Scatter 6 hoops inside.
- Two teams wear bibs.
4v4 or 5v5, 25 m by 30 m.
How to play
- The team with the ball scores a point by passing to a teammate who receives with one foot in a hoop.
- The receiver passes on to a new teammate.
- Every 2 minutes, the coach moves two islands.
- Defenders cannot enter a hoop.
Keeping everyone moving
Everyone plays all the time, the islands move and spare balls restart play at once. Nobody is out.
Make it easier
- More islands.
- Defenders walk.
Make it harder
- Fewer islands.
- Points only for islands reached on the second pass after winning the ball.
Three things to say
- Look up for a free island.
- Pass to the receiver's safe foot.
- Receive and play on.
Words that work: "Brave pass to a far island!", "Great work to get free!", "You lifted the team with that call!"
Colts habit
Everyone must receive on an island before a team scores a bonus.
Both feet
A practice-foot pass to an island scores 2.

Safety: Hoops can slip. Use flat discs as islands on wet grass.
Keeping score: Each team counts island points in a game and tries to beat its own total.
