Touch Away
As the ball rolls in, a grown-up points left or right and the first touch goes that way.
A jumper 2 m either side of your child; you roll the ball and point, and they take their first touch that way.
Set up
- Put a jumper 2 m to the left and right of your child.
Garden or park.
How to play
- Roll the ball to your child.
- As it rolls, point left or right.
- Your child's first touch goes towards that jumper.
- They pass back and you go again.
Make it easier
Make it harder
- Point later, just before the ball arrives.
Three things to say
- First touch out of your feet, towards the jumper, not dead.
Colts habit
Work hard: ten good touches.
Both feet
Take the touch with the foot nearest the jumper.
Heads up
Look up for the point while the ball rolls.
Safety: Roll the ball along the ground only, never throw it at the head.
My best
Touches the right way out of 10. Last time and this time. Only ever compared with your own earlier go, never with anyone else. Saved on this device only.
