0 to 10 min 3v3
Set up two small pitches with a goal at each end. As children arrive they go straight in: 1v1, then 2v2, then 3v3. Coaches feed a spare ball in from the side the moment one goes out. No throw-ins or corners: dribble it in or pass it in, to keep it fast. The match is the warm-up.
10 to 40 min Station 1 and Station 2, 15 minutes each
Two groups of about 6. Group 1 starts on Station 1, group 2 on Station 2. Swap at 25 minutes. A coach at each station.
Station 1
Shooting Races
Dribble round the far goal and shoot into the other one, with more points from further out.

Set up
- Divide the pitch into 3 zones with a goal at each end.
- Two groups start at opposite sides, a ball each.
Stage 1: play it
- The first person from each group dribbles around the opposite net and shoots into the other net.
- The next person goes as soon as their teammate shoots.
- Each child counts their own goals.
Stage 2: progress it
Different points depending on the zone you score from: furthest away 3 points, middle 2 points, closest 1 point.
Keeping everyone moving: No race and no team score. The booklet's only the first to score gets points progression is dropped. Run two pairs of goals so groups are small.
Three things to say
- Dribbling, close control, soft touches.
- Running with the ball when you have space and time.
- Shooting technique, hit the target.
You need: balls, cones, bibs, 2 goals

Station 2
Alamo
Dribble and shoot, then race round the cones to stop the next attacker.

Set up
- Set out a pitch of about 30 by 20 with a goal at each end and a line of central cones.
- Two teams on opposite sides, a ball each.
Stage 1: play it
- On the call, the first player from one team dribbles toward the net and shoots.
- As soon as they shoot, the first player from the other team starts to dribble toward their net to shoot. The first player must run around the central cones to try to stop them.
- The sequence continues.
Stage 2: progress it
Change the direction of movement.
Stage 3: progress it
Remove or reduce the central cones to speed up or slow down the recovery run.
Stage 4: progress it
Add or remove a goalkeeper.
Stage 5: progress it
Add targets in the net.
Keeping everyone moving: Keep groups to 3 a side and run two pitches so nobody waits long. No score between the teams. Each child counts their own goals and recoveries.
Three things to say
- Running with the ball into space.
- Shooting technique: laces, inside of the foot, placement.
- Decision making.
You need: balls, bibs, cones, 2 goals

40 to 60 min Match
A match
One big pitch, 6v6 with goalkeepers. Kick-ins or dribble-ins instead of throw-ins, to keep the touches up. A spare ball comes in the moment one goes out. One coach refs, the other feeds spare balls from the side.
Equipment for the whole session
- balls
- cones
- bibs

Habit of the week: Be brave
Say it at the start, watch for it all session, name one moment on the walk off.
Reminders
- Drinks when moving. The huddle is the walk off: one moment of the habit, with the child's name.
- A ball at every foot. Nobody stands without one for 30 seconds.
- No queues and nobody is ever out.
- Talk under 30 seconds. Show it, don't tell it.
- Every game has stages: start at stage 1 and move on when it is working.
